The Senior Graduate Pietro De Falco, 30 years old, originally from Campania and residing in Monteroni d'Arbia, in the province of Siena and a Paratrooper of the 186th Regiment “Folgore”, passed away yesterday following a serious road accident near Curiano, in the municipality of Monteroni d’Arbia.
Who was Pietro De Falco
Within the 186th, De Falco was considered a leading figure.
Belonging to the 14th Company “Pantere Indomite” of the 5th Paratrooper Battalion "El Alamein", he boasted numerous operational qualifications — including military rescuer and escort operator — and had several missions behind him.
Colleagues and comrades describe him as a serious, reliable, generous professional, always ready to serve others: a paratrooper who combined technical competence and esprit de corps.
The dynamics of the accident
According to La Nazione, around 11:00, along a short straight stretch of the Cassia, the large-displacement motorcycle driven by De Falco collided with another vehicle. The impact, violent and head-on according to initial indications, left him no chance. However, the exact dynamics are still under investigation by the Carabinieri of the provincial command.
On the scene were 118, an ambulance from the Misericordia of Montalcino, the Carabinieri, and patrols of the municipal police of Monteroni d’Arbia. Pegaso 2 was also activated, but all resuscitation attempts were in vain.
To allow for the surveys, the Cassia remained closed for over an hour in both directions, with long queues and traffic disruptions.
BRIGATAFOLGORE.NET joins in the condolences of the family, friends, and Paratroopers of the 186th.
