Opening Ceremony and Exhibition on Cultural Heritage

The celebrations opened on June 4 with the solemn flag-raising in the presence of the General Commander of the Corps, Gen. C.A. Salvatore Luongo, and the Minister for Sport, Andrea Abodi. Following this, the official inauguration along Viale delle Magnolie, with the ribbon cutting by the godmother Adriana Macchi, president of Soroptimist International of Italy, accompanied by the Corps Band.

Simultaneously, at the Casina dell’Orologio, the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Cultural Heritage (TPC) set up an exhibition with artifacts recovered from illicit trafficking: notably a statue of a Muse from the 2nd-1st century BC repatriated from the United States and a head of an archaic deity seized at an American auction house. An opportunity to learn about the work of the TPC and the world's largest database of stolen artworks.

A Day for Remembrance: June 5, 1920 – June 5, 2025

June 5 represents a highly symbolic date for the Carabinieri Corps. On that same day in 1920, at the end of World War I, the Corps was awarded the Gold Medal for Military Valor for its contribution during the conflict. An acknowledgment that honors not only the courage shown in battle but also the constant dedication to the Homeland.

This year, 105 years after that historic concession, the event will also be an opportunity to recall that solemn moment and to celebrate the 211 years since the founding of the Corps, which took place on July 13, 1814. Today as then, the value of the Carabinieri represents a precious heritage for Italy.

Thanks to all the Carabinieri, brave and capable men and women, who every day face increasingly sophisticated crime and threats, but at the same time offer their expertise and humanity to every citizen. Always ready to help with honor. "Faithful Through the Centuries". Thank you.

Experiences and Activities for Everyone

A village for children and families. The mornings are dedicated to the little ones: horseback rides with the IV Regiment, demonstrations on hoof shoeing, and educational activities in the park's nature.

Technology and simulations. Visitors can immerse themselves in a crime scene with 3D viewers thanks to RaCIS, discover how to recognize counterfeit banknotes with UV lights, or try their hand at recovering submerged objects in an operational tank set up by the Corps' Divers.

Robots, drones, and safety. In action “Saetta”, the robot dog used in special operations, and drunk driving simulators thanks to the collaboration with ACI. Spectacular attractions but also with a strong educational impact, aimed at raising awareness of the consequences of dangerous behaviors.

Sports, prevention, and self-defense. Fencing and defense lessons on the tatami, climbing with the Alpine Training Center, and BLSD courses to learn life-saving maneuvers: an active experience for all ages, with a focus on well-being and prevention.

Thematic Meetings and Culture

During the three days, open meetings on major social issues are held:

  • June 4: bullying and cyberbullying with the participation of Luigi Busà and influencer Jasmin Zangarelli; scams against the elderly with Lino Banfi; and financial security and cryptocurrencies.
  • June 5: gender violence, with interventions from Soroptimist and the foundation “Una, nessuna, centomila”, and a conference on the protection of cultural heritage.
  • June 6: environment and nutrition in a context of climate change, with experts like Francesco Petretti, Sonia Filippazzi, and Elena Zeng.

Tradition and Show

On June 5, the anniversary of the Corps' Foundation, the solemn ceremony and the Equestrian Carousel will be held in Piazza di Siena, preceded by the parade of Murgese horses with vintage carriages. The event will be streamed on the official YouTube channel of the Corps and within the Village.
