The issue of accessibility to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium has gained new attention thanks to the intervention of Lieutenant Colonel Paratrooper Gianfranco Paglia, Gold Medal for Military Valor and Captain of the Paralympic Sports Group of the Defense.
Paglia's decisive push
With the imminent start of the championship, Paglia had publicly expressed his regret for the exclusion of disabled fans from the Neapolitan stadium, denouncing the failure to respect the promises made by the municipal administration.
His words highlighted the risk that inclusion would be reduced to a mere “propaganda spot”, but managed to draw the attention of the institutions.

The Municipality's response: 3 million for accessibility
Yesterday, following Paglia's statements, the Naples City Council issued an official statement signed by Nino Simeone, president of the Infrastructure and Public Works Commission. The text reaffirms Mayor Manfredi's commitment and recalls the investments already planned:
- 2 million euros already allocated in previous years for an initial intervention;
- a further resolution of July 23, 2025 approving a project of 1 million euros for new adaptation and accessibility works.
Thanks to these resources, the seats reserved for people with disabilities should rise to 278, beyond the 270 provided by current regulations.
The announced distribution:
- Lower Curve A: 28 seats for motor disabilities.
- Lower Curve B: 28 seats for motor disabilities.
- Upper Distinct: 120 seats for non-motor disabilities.
- Family Stand: 40 seats for motor disabilities and 24 for non-motor disabilities.
- Lower Guest Stand: 20 seats for motor disabilities and 18 for non-motor disabilities.
Funds allocated, but works still to be completed
While the statement marks a step forward in terms of resolutions and allocations, the main issue raised by Paglia remains: when will these seats actually be available?
To date, despite the commitments put in writing by the Municipality, disabled fans who wish to access the Maradona still face concrete difficulties and insufficient seats.
A result still halfway
The dialogue initiated by Gianfranco Paglia has produced an initial result on the political and administrative level, confirming the decisive role of his intervention. However, the central issue remains unresolved: until the works are completed, the problem he denounced persists, and with it remains pending the promise of full inclusion and equal dignity for Napoli fans and for all those who wish to attend an event at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
