Brigadier General Yuri Grossi is the new Commander of the Pinerolo Brigade. The Incursore Officer, former Commander of the 9th Paratroopers Assault Regiment "Col Moschin" (2018-2021), has taken command of the Italian Army's Great Unit.
At the Bari garrison club, the solemn ceremony of the change of command of the "Pinerolo" Brigade took place. Colonel Pietro Guglielmi handed over the command to Brigadier General Yuri Grossi, in the presence of the Commander of the Southern Operational Forces, Corps General Angelo Michele Ristuccia, and the main military, civil, and religious authorities of Bari and the province.
During his speech, General Ristuccia expressed great appreciation for the professionalism and commitment demonstrated by the men and women of the Pinerolo Brigade in every mission, emphasizing how it represents a model of excellence in technological development and the experimentation of new tactics, techniques, and procedures shared at the Armed Forces level.
The Pinerolo Brigade has indeed been successfully employed in various operations on national territory, including the "Strade Sicure" Operation, which saw it engaged in ensuring the security of the territory, combating organized crime, and preventing environmental crimes. Recently, the brigade's contribution was also crucial during all phases of the G7 held in Puglia, where the men and women of the Pinerolo ensured a high level of security.
The ceremony also highlighted the continuous commitment of the Pinerolo Brigade in the technological modernization project of the Army, called Network Enabled Capability. In this context, the brigade plays a fundamental role in the employment and evaluation of new materials introduced into service, testing their operational advantages. During the G7 summit, the "Imperio" system was successfully used, effectively supporting the operational functions of Command, Control, Maneuver, and Intelligence.
The change of command at the Pinerolo Brigade thus represents a moment of continuity and renewed commitment towards innovation and operational effectiveness.
General Grossi, an Incursore Officer from the special forces with an important career in the 9th Regiment Col Moschin, brings with him a wealth of unique experience and skills that will now be made available to the Pinerolo Brigade. His deep knowledge of special operations, strategic planning, and advanced tactics will further enrich the brigade, integrating conventional capabilities with innovative and highly specialized approaches. This combination of tradition and innovation promises to further elevate the operational effectiveness of the Pinerolo, preparing it to face future challenges with renewed determination and capability.
