Four sailors have officially achieved the coveted Green Beret, fully joining the select group of Navy Raiders. The ceremony took place at the Underwater and Raider Command (COMSUBIN) in La Spezia, at the end of the 76th Ordinary Raider Course “ARIETE”.
The Navy itself made the event official through its social channels, emphasizing the value of an achievement that represents one of the highest and most symbolic moments of the entire training path. The Green Beret is not just a badge: it is the recognition of a very tough selection and training that certifies the ability to operate in the most complex and risky contexts.

Numerous civil and military authorities were present at the ceremony, testifying to the importance of the event. Among them, Matteo Perego di Cremnago, Undersecretary of State for Defense, and the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral Giuseppe Berutti Bergotto.

The path to becoming a Navy Raider is considered one of the most selective in the Italian Armed Forces: months of extreme training, operational capabilities in maritime, land, and underwater environments, physical and mental endurance, discipline, and team spirit. Only those who demonstrate all these qualities reach the final goal.

With the achievement of the Green Beret by the four students of the 76th Course “ARIETE”, COMSUBIN renews a tradition of excellence that for decades has placed the Navy Raiders among the most respected elite units nationally and internationally. An achievement that enhances the individual operator, but above all strengthens the professional and operational heritage of the entire Armed Force.
