An act of quick thinking, courage, and civic duty turned a quiet evening in the heart of Naples into a positive news story. The protagonist, last Saturday, was Paratrooper General Rodolfo Sganga, Chief of Staff of the Allied Joint Force Command Naples (JFC Naples), who did not hesitate to chase and stop a fleeing thief.

The Theft and the General's Intervention

It was around 8:50 PM when, on Via Chiaia, near Piazza Carolina, a woman screamed for help: her necklace had been snatched from her neck. The victim immediately pointed out the culprit, a young man over six feet tall running towards Piazza Trieste e Trento.

General Sganga, present in the area with his wife, witnessed the scene and, without hesitation, began a foot chase through the crowded streets of the center.

Reaching the fugitive near Piazza Trieste e Trento, Sganga managed to stop him, preventing him from continuing his escape. Moments later, a patrol of the Municipal Police, already in the area, arrived on the scene and took the man into custody.

During the search, the officers recovered the necklace that had just been stolen, returning it to its owner. The thief was thus brought to justice thanks to the prompt intervention of the Paratrooper Officer.
