The Deputy Commander of the Land Forces and Head of the Operational Area, Lieutenant General Salvatore Cuoci, visited the 4th Alpini Paratroopers Regiment RANGER, stationed in Verona. The General was received by the regiment's Commander, Colonel Igor Panebianco, and Brigadier General Marco Manzone, who leads the Army Special Forces.
After the honor salute, the General began the meeting with a briefing dedicated to the unit, followed by a discussion with the military personnel. In his speech, he emphasized the strategic importance of preparation and training for the success of the missions assigned to the unit, also reaffirming the high level of professionalism and competence that characterizes the Special Forces contingent.
Subsequently, the General awarded honors and promotions to the soldiers who distinguished themselves for exceptional merits, expressing gratitude for their constant commitment and demonstrated dedication. As the visit continued, he attended an operational simulation conducted by a ranger unit, carefully analyzing the methodologies and capabilities employed to assess their effectiveness and readiness level.
The meeting at the 4th Regiment concluded with the signing of the Honor Roll in the Commander's office and an inspection at the former Chiarle Barracks in Castelnuovo del Garda, to examine possible future training projects.
The Rangers, experts in mountain scenarios
The 4th Alpini Paratroopers Regiment “Ranger” is a unit of the Army Special Forces, capable of planning and conducting the full spectrum of Special Operations. Its main activities include advanced reconnaissance missions, direct actions, and military support to allied forces. Thanks to targeted preparation, the unit stands out particularly for its high competence in combat in extreme environments, with a unique specialization in operations in mountainous and arctic territories.
Within the Army Special Forces, the 4th Regiment is the unit with the greatest expertise in mountain scenarios. Training and preparation in this context represent a central element of the personnel's preparation path, ensuring a high level of operational capability in the most hostile environmental conditions.
