The 15th amphibious qualification course "Charlie" for the staff of the units of the Brigade "Pozzuolo del Friuli" recently concluded at the historic Reggimento Lagunari "Serenissima". Focused on theoretical and practical activities, it aimed to provide personnel with basic skills for planning and conducting amphibious and riverine operations.
During the three weeks of training, participants faced a series of lessons and practical tests, such as in-depth study of operations in an amphibious environment, knowledge of the main amphibious and naval vehicles, pool exercises, a weighted march, water skills tests, such as capsizing with an inflatable boat in the lagoon and crossing watercourses in operational conditions.
A key element of the program was the conference on amphibious operations, held by Commander Ferruccio Ferreli from the Institute of Maritime Military Studies of Venice, which covered various aspects of maritime operations and the capabilities of the Navy in support of such missions. This conference was also attended by the Key Elements of the staff of the Brigade "Pozzuolo" units, belonging to the capability basket of the CNPM (National Sea Projection Capability), highlighting the importance of integration and cooperation among the different components of the armed forces.
At the end of the course, Colonel Ivan Falasca, Commander of the Reggimento Lagunari Serenissima, handed out participation certificates to the attendees, thus recognizing the completion of their training, marking the entry of new qualified amphibians ready to contribute to the operational capabilities of the Brigade "Pozzuolo del Friuli", currently under the command of Brigadier General Paratrooper Nicola Mandolesi, an Officer with extraordinary qualities who in the past commanded the 3rd Battalion Grizzano (part of the 183rd Rgt. Par. Nembo), then, as a Colonel, the legendary 187th Paratroopers Regiment “Folgore”.
