The images released show lifeless bodies among the rubble and lines of desperate survivors searching for food and water, while the international community watches with growing indignation.
Europe condemns Israel and calls for a ceasefire
The European Union has raised its voice in unison: Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, called the images from Gaza “unbearable” and demanded the immediate end of Israeli military operations. A joint statement by 25 countries, including 17 EU members and 8 non-European nations, called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire. Italy, through Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, reiterated that “there is no justification for what is happening: enough bombings, enough suffering for innocent civilians”.
