Italy once again confirms itself as the absolute protagonist in the European parachuting scene. In Alcantarilla, Spain, the UEP Precision Landing Championships took place, a competition that saw the participation of national teams belonging to the European Union of Paratroopers, an organization of which ANPDI has been one of the three founding members since the 1980s.
In this edition as well, the Italian team demonstrated all its value, winning the first overall place and confirming itself as the team to beat. The final result speaks for itself: 98 centimeters in total in six jumps, achieved by the four members of the Italian team, a figure that certifies not only the high technical level of the Italian athletes but also the solidity of a school that continues to stand out internationally.
A Victory Built by a High-Level Team
Representing Italy in this important competition were top-level athletes: Lieutenants Giorgio Squadrone and Giuseppe Tresoldi, along with Gianluca Rizzati and Claudio Borin. The team was accompanied by the paratrooper delegation head Cristofolini, Deputy Director of the Parachuting Sports Center.
The Italian success was also completed by a prestigious individual result. Lieutenant Giorgio Squadrone indeed secured the third place in the individual ranking, achieving an excellent score of just 11 centimeters. Behind Italy, in the places of honor, were Germany and France, confirming the high level of the event.
The Championships were attended by representatives from Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Greece, Cyprus, and Serbia, in an international setting of great technical and symbolic value. The organization of the competition, as reported, was impeccable, and the entire event took place in a climate of camaraderie and genuine sportsmanship, elements that have always belonged to the best tradition of military and associative parachuting in Europe.
It was not just a sporting victory, but also a confirmation of an identity, a style, and a continuity that ANPDI has carried forward for decades even in the international context, maintaining a strong bond with the most authentic values of the parachuting world.

In 2027, Italy Will Organize the Championship
The UEP parachuting championships are organized every year by the nation that takes, in rotation, the presidency of the European Union of Paratroopers. The competition is indeed part of the broader framework of the Union's activities and accompanies the Annual Congress, during which the delegations of the national presidencies meet to discuss issues of common interest.
Next year, in 2027, it will therefore be the responsibility of Italy and ANPDI to organize the European Championship. A prestigious task, which gains further value in light of the fact that, next October, the rotating presidency of the UEP will be transferred to the Italian National President, from the acting Spanish president, Gen. D. Juan Cifuentes.

A Success in an Important Year for ANPDI
This result takes on even more significance because it comes in a particularly important 2026 for the National Association of Italian Paratroopers. In addition to sporting satisfactions, concrete prospects are also reopening on the parachuting activity front, thanks to the approval by the Army General Staff of circular 7044, intended to replace circular 1400 which regulates the parachuting activity of military interest of the Association.
This is a long-awaited step, which represents a strong signal and marks the start of a new phase for the restoration of one of the most identifying and traditional activities of ANPDI.

Congratulations to the Athletes and the Parachuting Sports Center
This extraordinary result was contributed by preparation, experience, selection, and team spirit. For this, congratulations go to the Parachuting Sports Center, led by Colonel Paolo Filippini, who selected the competitors, as well as to all the athletes who once again brought Italy and ANPDI to the top of Europe.
Another success, another confirmation, another great satisfaction for the tricolor and for the Italian parachuting world.
