At Camp Villaggio Italia, in the municipality of Pejë/Peć, the 2025 edition of the “Balkan Games” took place, an important sporting competition that involved personnel from contingents of various nationalities belonging to the KFOR (Kosovo Force) mission led by NATO, within the framework of the Regional Command West.
The event, conceived as a team competition, represented a moment of sharing and exchange among soldiers from different countries, with the aim of promoting physical fitness, coordination, and teamwork.

The competition unfolded through a challenging circuit of physical tests, which tested the strength, endurance, and cooperation skills of the participants. Among the challenges faced: running, power exercises, and endurance tests, all designed to highlight not only athletic qualities but also the group spirit and solidarity among the soldiers.

The wide participation highlighted the determination, discipline, and spirit of cooperation that distinguish the soldiers involved in the mission. A clear example of how sport can become a tool to strengthen international ties and promote common values, even in complex operational contexts.

The KFOR mission, which operates based on the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), continues to ensure a safe environment and freedom of movement for all people and communities in Kosovo. This is done in close collaboration with the local police and the EULEX mission (European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo), each respecting their roles for the security of the region.
